General Information
Portsmouth Youth Basketball’s primary objective is to assist each
player in developing, refining and enhancing fundamental basketball
skills in a positive environment. PYB believes in providing coaches
with the tools and knowledge to effectively teach the players
basketball. Each coach will be given specific information on the drills
and skills to teach their players during the season to ensure
consistency across all teams within the league.
Coaching tools will include a coach’s manual, sample
practice plans and a coach’s clinic sponsored by the league to review drills and skills.
Coach Volunteer Form
Each PYB coach and league volunteer will be asked to submit a completed Volunteer Form
before the start of the season. Please note, each application will be
subject to a background check and will be reviewed by the volunteer
review board prior to being assigned to a team. Once you have printed
and completed the volunteer form, please mail it along with a copy of
your driver’s license to Portsmouth Youth Basketball, P.O. Box
171, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
